The Defense of Department Invests $27 million in Historically Black Colleges and Universities for Scientific Research in Critical Technology Areas

The DoD announced awards totaling $27 million to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to conduct research in defense critical technology areas. These competitive awards are funded through the DoD HBCU and Minority-Serving Institution (MSI) Research and Education Program and range up to $9 million for each institution.

Department of Defense Announces 2022 Class of Laboratory-University Collaboration Initiative Fellows

The DoD announced today the 2022 class of Laboratory-University Collaboration Initiative (LUCI) Fellows. The LUCI Fellowship program supports collaboration between DoD laboratory scientists and DoD-funded academics, such as recipients of the Vannevar Bush Faculty Fellowship or Principal Investigators (PIs) of a Multi-Disciplinary University Research Initiative award.

DoD 6.1 Basic Research Conference on 6-9 Sept 2022

The first hybrid DoD 6.1 Basic Research Conference will be hosted on 6-9 Sept 2022 at the Basic Research Innovation Collaboration Center (BRICC) in Arlington, VA. In order to foster participant interactions, we are encouraging in-person attendance but will provide the ability for virtual attendance for those unable to travel to the DC area. DoD Awards $46 Million in University Research Equipment Awards

Arlington, VA - The Department of Defense (DoD) has announced awards to 144 university researchers totaling $46 million under the Defense University Research Instrumentation Program (DURIP). These grants will be provided to 81 institutions across 35 states in Fiscal Year (FY) 2022.
