Hosted by the Basic Research Office, Research & Engineering leaders recently attended the HSI STEM Pathways Forum at Virginia Tech University's Executive Briefing Center in Arlington, VA.
The event was a collaboration of the United States Air Force, Office of Chief Scientist, and Alliance of Hispanic Serving Research Universities, which had [4] R1 University presidents and more than 25 academic leaders attend the event to share challenges the STEM field faces and offer their visions to create a more dynamic STEM ecosystem.
As our adversaries develop more complexed technologies, building a robust science and technology workforce that includes the untapped talent from underserved communities is an imperative for the Department of Defense as it seeks to protect the American people while maintaining our nation’s S&T advantage.
